Terms of service
1. Definitions
In these Terms & Conditions:
“We”, “us”, “our” refers to London Ballroom Skating, its instructors, employees, contractors, and authorised representatives.
“You”, “your” refers to any person registering for or attending a Workshop.
“Workshop” refers to any class, session, course, or event (in-person or online) organised by us.
“Venue” means the physical or virtual location where the Workshop takes place.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or attending a Workshop, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not participate.
3. Booking & Payment
- All Workshop bookings are confirmed only once full payment has been received. 
- Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking at our discretion. 
- Bookings are personal and non-transferable unless agreed in writing. 
4. Refund & Cancellation Policy
We operate a clear and fair refund policy that balances participant flexibility with our event costs:
- All bookings are non-refundable. Once payment is made, no refunds will be issued for change of mind, illness, injury, or other personal reasons. 
- Transfers: If you contact us at least 72 hours before your open session Workshop start time, we may (at our discretion) allow a one-time transfer to another available open session Workshop within 30 days, subject to availability. 
- Cancellations or no-shows, are not eligible for refunds or transfers. 
- Event cancellations by us: If we cancel or reschedule a Workshop (for example, due to instructor illness, venue issues, or low enrolment), you will be offered a full refund or a transfer to another session. Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. 
- Force majeure: We are not liable for cancellations or postponements caused by circumstances beyond our control (see Section 14). 
5. Your Responsibilities
By participating, you agree that:
- You are physically and mentally fit to take part in the Workshop. 
- You will follow all safety instructions given by our instructors or venue staff. 
- You will behave respectfully and responsibly towards others. 
- You will not attend under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 
- You will wear suitable clothing and footwear for skating. 
- You will bring and use your own suitable equipment unless otherwise stated. 
We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove anyone acting unsafely or disruptively, without refund.
6. Health, Safety & Equipment
- Roller skating and dance activities carry inherent risks of injury. You participate entirely at your own risk. 
- We strongly recommend that all participants wear appropriate protective gear, including helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads. 
- If you use your own equipment, you are responsible for ensuring it is safe and fit for purpose. 
- We are not liable for loss or damage to personal items or equipment brought to the Workshop 
7. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
By attending the Workshop, you acknowledge and accept that:
- Participation involves physical exertion and potential risk of falls, collisions, or other injuries. 
- You voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation. 
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any claims against London Ballroom Skating, its instructors, staff, agents, or venue partners for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation — except where caused by our proven negligence or wilful misconduct. 
- You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, costs, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your participation or breach of these Terms. 
8. Venue
You must arrive on time and follow all venue rules and staff directions.
Late arrivals may be refused entry without refund.
9. Photography & Video
We may photograph or film Workshops for promotional and educational purposes.
By attending, you consent to your image being used in our marketing, social media, or website content unless you notify us in writing before the Workshop.
You may not record or film our Workshops without our prior written permission.
10. Intellectual Property
All Workshop materials, choreography, techniques, content, and recordings remain the property of London Ballroom Skating. You may not reproduce, share, or teach our content without written consent.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
We collect and process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available at www.londonballroomskating.com).
Your data is used solely for booking management, communication, safety, and, where you consent, marketing.
12. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the Workshop.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, opportunity, or enjoyment.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for delays or cancellations due to causes beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to weather, strikes, fire, flood, illness, pandemics, transportation issues, or government restrictions.
14. Changes to Workshops
We may change the date, venue, or instructor if required. We will provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative session or refund where appropriate.
15. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections remain in full effect.
16. Variation of Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued booking or participation constitutes acceptance of any updates.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any booking confirmation and our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and London Ballroom Skating and supersede any previous communications or representations.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
